Many US homes have the router at one end of the house and the TV at the other. If a TV is two or more rooms away from the router, a mesh Wi-Fi system or a wired connection usually solves buffering. Allow about 15 Mbps per HD screen and 25 Mbps per 4K screen.
Some US internet providers set a monthly data cap. As a rough guide, HD streaming uses about 1.5–3 GB per hour and 4K about 7 GB per hour, per screen. A household watching four hours of HD a day uses roughly 200–350 GB a month on streaming alone.
